RC446 BR(SR) Dia1/570 Lamprey Ballast Wagon Kit
This kit is designed to make a model of the BR (Southern) Dia 1/570 20T Ballast Wagon. Full details of these wagons can be found in "An Illustrated History of Southern Wagons" Volume 4. A useful article was published in the December 1984 edition of the Model Railway Constructor by Paul Bartlett and Trevor Mann. We have included a coupler mounting block for Bachmann 36027 Mk2 couplings NEM shaft (cranked) with pocket.
201 wagons built 1951, DB991000-20 (fitted), DB991301-20 (fitted) and DB991141-300 (unfitted). Survived into the 1980's many rebuilt or modified after that.
The kit requires standard wagon wheels on 26mm axles, bearings, couplers, paint & transfers to complete. Includes cast whitemetal buffers & Vac cylinder, etch coupler hook and buffer shrouds.
